If you’re looking to add history and character, match existing materials, save money, we have a large range of reclaimed materials on offer. Norwest are the only Top of South seller of reclaimed timber catering for both trade and retail.
Trade & Retail
Norwest sell to both the trade and retail sectors. Our reclaimed materials are available for everyone, whether contractor, builder, renovator, repairer or adding character.
Great for...
- Adding character and history to new builds, such as architectural features and reclaimed native timber flooring
- Matching existing materials, e.g. repairing and renovating.
- Sourcing native timbers which are no longer available new.
Quality
All our materials are good quality that have stood the test of time.
A characteristic feature of our re-run native timbers such as Rimu, Matai and Beech is that many of the boards could be considered artworks in their own right with their numerous unique, natural and man-made inclusions.
This New Zealand native timber was once used as sarking or floor joists and has been salvaged from the colonial buildings constructed during the 1880’s through to the state housing boom ending in the 1940’s. They have been carefully de-nailed and scanned using a metal detector to ensure all nails have been removed, then transformed into the bespoke pieces we have today.
Supply & Availability
We can supply various reclaimed materials at an affordable price compared to buying new and in a reasonable timeframe, even when supply in the building industry is hard. We can often sell whole floor sections.
Norwest are the only true local deconstruction (demolition) company in the Top of the South. We deconstruct as opposed to demolish, which means less waste – demolition with a conscience.
Whether renovating, insurance work, construction work, EQC or private, we cover the Top of the South from Nelson through Tasman, Marlborough and the West Coast, we can help you.
We work alongside the Historic Trust, local Iwi, archeologists etc, and are always mindful of hazardous materials and contaminated soils with procedures and methodology in place to leave any site clean and usable.
